Senior DI-Operator

The Position

The DI-Operator works under the supervision of the DI producers and together with the DI team. He also supports our CG supervisors or other department leads if needed.

Requirements:

Master industry standard image transcoding techniques and softwares.
Understand the overall color management process.
Thorough understanding of all current codecs and media file types.
Thorough understanding of post production workflows up to DCP creation.
Experience using DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere CC. Easy DCP experience is a plus.
Thorough knowledge of Video & audio mastering and QC.
Use, develop, document and implement workflows to improve continuity, speed, and safety of the above processes.
Understand the technical setup of editing and grading suites.
Can work both on MacOS and Windows.
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or creative field or relevant experience in a DI position.

Responsibilities

Conform feature films, series, and commercials in DaVinci Resolve.
Communicate and coordinate with the audio studio for fluent and technically correct deliveries.
Manage all digital video assets throughout our workflows and ensure their quality, accessibility and security.
Manage, develop and take care of transport drive and cloud storage organization, as well as maintaining directory structures, naming conventions and shipping materials.
Actively monitor data I/O and overall media management in the DI department.
Work together closely with the DI producers and communicate when materials arrive or are dispatched.
Facilitate, organize and check the digital and physical delivery of intermediates or masters in the required output formats needed according to production specifications
Perform tech checks of received materials for errors or incorrect files.
Create dailies from rushes and prepare them for ingest and sync in the editing department.
Manage and secure project rushes data by archiving to LTO tapes archives.
Monitor LTO stock and shuttle drives as necessary, recall transport devices and maintain a good working relationship with clients and their teams.
Perform full QC on above deliverables before they are sent to clients and distributors.

The Location

The Fridge is based in Brussels. This is a great place to work we’re only located 15 minutes from each major train station in Brussels and we’re located 2 metro stops in the heart of Brussels.
