  • The lighting artist works under the supervision of the Supervisor. Being responsible for lighting of shots for a full CGI animation feature film. Interprets the artwork provided, allowing him/her to create a 3D representation that reflects the original intent while respecting the technical requirements of the project.
  • Shots from senior lighting artists will be used by other artists as lighting reference.

  • College degree or equivalent in 3D computer graphics
  • Knowledge of Unity
  • Knowledge of 3D lighting and in general of full CGI feature film workflows
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a lighting department in the game -, VFX - or animation industry.
  • Strong creative skills, having a trained eye for detail
  • Sense of initiative and proactivity
  • Experience with lighting pipeline tools
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Being a teamplayer
  • Plusses:
    • Experience with Ftrack/Shotgun
    • Generalist VFX and FX skills in software like Maya/Houdini/Blender
    • Interested in game architecture and technologies
    • Production language is English

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Light and render all assets, environments and characters in our feature film, ensuring the shots meet artistic, technical and render requirements
  • Working closely together with the CG Supervisor to determine the best approach to solve lighting challenges and develop the final look per sequence
  • Collaborate with all departments involved with lighting
  • Maintain timing and production quotas set by the production manager
  • Organize work and publish shots for approval using our pipeline tools
  • Execute retakes requested by the Supervisor and the Director in an analytic, proactive, accurate and efficient manner
  • Able to work independently, showing high problem solving and organisational skills

The Fridge is based in Brussels. This is a great place to work we’re only located 15 minutes from each major train station in Brussels and we’re located 2 metro stops in the heart of Brussels.
